The Week That Was...
I was able to accomplish alot of things last week. Most of the time i was out attending meetings, it was fun pero siyempre nakakapagod rin. I know some of you might think that i turned into a geek pero two things excite me these days - work and books! you might be wondering bakit naman? well, i'm now helping out with developing exhibits for the museum. I never really had the chance to do this thing before. Of course i was always involve with any of the exhibitions pero not exactly sa planning and development of the concept, but now, Joseph is "gracious" enough to share the workload with me! (hehehe, love you bading!). We are currently working on two exhibitions - ANI a rice exhibit (for the International Year of the Rice Celebration), and WEAVING LIVES the art of saori (for the Zero In 3 project, a consortium of 4 museums - ateneo art gallery, lopez museum, ayala musem, and of course, museo pambata). Among the two exhibitions, the last is sort of "my baby". Tita mads actually thought of partnering with VSA Arts ng Pilipinas for the Zero In, and said "yes! yes! we'll do it!" This exhibition has a special place in my heart, i've really been wanting to intensify the program for children with disabilities, and the idea came in such a perfect time. I think tita becky (the energetic lady who heads VSA) is pretty excited about the project too. Actually, i enjoy visiting her school in QC, seeing the children play, learn and just have loads of fun. parang ako yung natetherapy pag dumadalaw ako dun :) I do hope all the plans will push through and that we'll finish everything in time for the opening on october (don, kaya natin yan! :) ). We also had a meeting for the Synergia event. Okey din 'to, kasi i've always been interested with doing festivals and organizing big events such as this upcoming "Galing ng Synergeia!" on November 26-27 sa Clamshell 1, Intramuros. I think i learn alot from doing these sort of projects, not too mention having a chance to work with such talented, smart, and very creative people like John Silva, Dr. Nene Guevarra, Nina, Ed dela Torre, and a whole bunch of synergeia members. Mamu and I will be working on the concept for the "Kid's Night", of course, it's not much of a challenge pero i'm still happy to prepare something for the kids especially since malapit na ang pasko! :) (which is my most favorite time of the year!) Friday naman, we went to ethel's condo (grabe sosy! eastwood pa ang lola ko! :) ) with les. We talked about the Pahiyas project next year, worked out the outline, and resolved a number of other things (despite of the fact na ilang oras muna silang naglaro at naadik sa playstation!). well, enjoy naman kami kahit papaano, kahit sumakit at mamaga na ang mga mata namin sa puyat at pagtutok sa tv! Saturday, meeting uli. Les and tito chivas with a friend, went over to museo to measure the bahay na bato and discuss other things for the project. Wow! ganda ng design ni tito! i was thrilled to see it and imagined how it will actually look like kapag na-install na siya (yipee, one burden down!). Then, had dinner at Alda's (again, hehehe peyborit eh), brought the book im currently reading (the funnies by j. robert lennon), and just had a quiet saturday night. Sunday naman, malen and i went to angono, rizal. we attended the "subconcious mind" exhibition nina carlos "tots" francisco 2, aaron bautista, ambeth lugtu, and others sa artist's village sa angono. ang babait talaga ng mga artists dito, si ambeth even gave me a cute painting (astig! thanks po sobra). Wally and his friends were also there, we really had a good time! may bonus pa, got to hang out sa bahay ni botong francisco, one of our national artists for visual arts and inuman with no-less than nemiranda! stig talaga :D malen and i arrived around 1 am, kumain muna sa chowking (ay nagfood trip pala!) tapos nagkuwentuhan at natulog...haaay, saya :)
kanina, nagtreat ng lunch si chie! kasama namin si malen, nagpakabusog kami sa chef de angelo! yummy! tapos kumain pa kami ng fiorgelato for dessert! (inggit kayo no?? :) ) magnifico!
im currently considering joining the hongkong trip end of the month...ano sa palagay nyo...should i go or not?? :)
goodnight everyone! have a nice, fun, stress-free week ahead!
mwah!
